The Xtellus Wavelength Selective Switch 11000 provides system designers with the ultimate in flexibility for constructing reconfigurable optical networks. It can be used in either 9-by-1 (nine DWDM inputs, one common DWDM output) or 1-by-9 configurations, and exhibits industry-leading optical performance for all ports, characterized by wide, flat top passbands, extended dynamic range for attenuation, low insertion loss and PDL, and very high extinction. The excellent performance of the WSS-11000 is the result of an ingenious and elegant optical design that combines the best of liquid crystal technology and free space optics.
