Xtellus Names Anthony Maher Chairman of the Board
Xtellus Strengthens Board of Directors as Market Drive Continues
MORRIS PLAINS, NJ, February 8, 2007 - Xtellus, a leading supplier of advanced ROADM technology for the metro and long-haul optical equipment markets, announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Anthony Maher, a telecommunications veteran, as Chairman of the Board. Mr. Maher has more than 30 years of executive management, corporate governance, venture capital, marketing, sales, and entrepreneurial experience within the markets for wireline and wireless communications equipment as well as optical components.

Mr. Maher has held extensive leadership positions in the telecommunications industry. During a twenty-five year career at Siemens, Mr. Maher held numerous positions including president of Siemens Access. He was also a member of the board of directors for Siemens Information and Communication Networks Group. Mr. Maher also has extensive venture capital experience. Most recently he was a partner with Star Venture Management and previously he was the founder and chairman of Mustang Ventures, the corporate venture capital investing arm for the wireless and wireline businesses at Siemens. He currently serves on the boards of publicly traded ADVA Optical AG, Wavecom S.A., and Alvarion, Ltd., as well as privately held Broadlight Inc.
