Xtellus Expands ROADM Subsystem Manufacturing Operations in South Korea and U.S.
Ten-fold Increase in Production is in Response to Increased Market Demand for Xtellus ROADM Product Line
MORRIS PLAINS, NJ, February 8, 2007 - Xtellus, a leading supplier of advanced ROADM technology for the metro and long-haul optical equipment markets, announced today a major manufacturing expansion both at its production facility in Daejon, South Korea and its US headquarters in Morris Plains, NJ. In addition to serving as the exclusive fabrication center for Xtellus' liquid crystal optical processors, the Korean facility, following a doubling of manufacturing space, now also produces sub-assemblies for Xtellus' ROADM product line. Manufacturing facilities at the US headquarters have also expanded. The combined result is a ten-fold increase in manufacturing capacity. A significant increase in market demand for Xtellus' ROADM subsystem product line is the driving force behind this move by Xtellus. With new customer wins in both the telecommunications and cable equipment markets, recent revenue growth has exceeded several-fold the growth rate of the ROADM subsystem market as reported by CIR and other research firms.

"This manufacturing expansion in response to customer demand is proof that our R&D investment to maintain innovation leadership in ROADM subsystems has paid off," said Tom Dudley, CEO of Xtellus. "2006 was a banner year for Xtellus. More and more leading ROADM system vendors are recognizing the performance and design advantages Xtellus delivers. We enter 2007 with an expanding customer base and a product line that now includes the industry's most reliable design for WSS-based ROADMs which will help fuel even further growth."

Located in the heart of the world's leading innovation and manufacturing center for liquid crystal technology, Xtellus' Korean facility is the only facility in the world dedicated to fabricating and integrating liquid crystal optical processors for telecommunications applications. As the only vertically integrated ROADM subsystem supplier with in-house, telecommunications-specific, liquid crystal design and manufacturing capabilities, Xtellus can execute faster product development cycles and deliver better customer responsiveness.
