The Xtellus 2x1 Edge Wavelength Selective Switch is optimized to fulfill the needs of Degree 2 ROADM nodes with an ability to accept DWDM traffic from an Input port and Add port and select which wavelengths to route to a common Output port, as well as equalize the output wavelengths. It can also be operated in the reverse direction with a single input distributing wavelengths to two outputs. The 2x1 EdgeWSS offers uncompromising optical performance and is packaged in a compact module that will fit into a single line card slot. The design of the 2x1 EdgeWSS was conceived from day one to facilitate a consistently repeatable, low cost manufacturing and assembly processes.
